this must have been...

...what it was like before i learned to type.

i want to say SO much, but it will have to wait a while longer, as i am still flat on my back and typing one handed.

a big thank you to Bee Cee for updating for me earlier this week--she's fabulous!

a HUGE thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and reassuring stories-i feel like a broken record saying it, but i wont ever get tired of thanking each of you. prayer is very powerful.

its been a scary week, to say the least. the heartache that comes along with getting over a huge hurdle only to land smack into a big pile of mud, is the pits. i am grateful no doubt about it-i just already love this little being so much, that i cant imagine having it taken from us.

i think God is blessing me with very little symptoms b/c of what is going on with this hemorrhage. ive only had 2 or 3 brief feelings of nausea, but thats it. and thats fine by me. the hemorrhage isn't painful, but i get pinching pains "down there" every now and then-i hope its just stretching.

this morning's appt. (6w2d) went well. GREAT news is that we saw Ron and his beating heart at 140 bpm. the not so good news is that the hemorrhage is still there-and not much smaller. it's not as "black" which means it's clotting more now-not as much free blood. so my nurse said im definitely still on bed rest until i see my ob next week.

yea, i had to get her to repeat that: until i see my ob next week. i've graduated. they really feel at this point that my ob (who deals with high risk thank goodness) will take the best care of me and ron. im supposed to call later today to find out when I get to go in.

im prepared to lay flat as long as it takes--albeit I could use some better afternoon shows, updated celebrity gossip, etc. BUT, Ill manage--whatever it takes. im also doing a lot of catching up on blog reading-please know im with all of you-just cant comment at the moment.

here's a bit of a blurry picture, but its one of the prettiest pictures ive ever seen:

PS This is a Mook favor: he is looking for anyone who has access to purchasing Chocodiles. He can only find them sold on the west coast. So any of my west coast pals that could lend a hand, we will pay for the shipping and chocodiles. Thank you!!

  1. It is an extremely beautiful picture! Keep it up, Ron!

Do you need anything, while you are flat on your back? There are a lot of us, I'm sure we can mobilize and we'd be happy to do it.

  2. go ron go!!! so glad you saw that little heart beating. now both of youo go rest!

  3. Go RON! You can DO IT!

(I know how scary this is, trust me. I've been spotting on and off with this current pregnancy and every time it happens, I think to myself: this is it. It's over).

  4. Go Ron Go!

    Very lovely pic indeed.

I'm glad to hear from you. I hope that the clot clots up and just dissolves. I think it's good news that your RE is graduating you, though. Definitely.

    Thinking of you!!

  5. I'm so glad to hear your continued good news. I am chiming in a bit late, but wanted you to know that I had the exact same thing happen at the beginning of my pregnancy (first successful PG after SIX rounds of IVF so you can imagine how on edge I was already). I gushed blood at 6w3d and was rushed to the ER where they saw the h/b and also what they thought was either a clot or second embryo that didn't make it. I went back to my clinic at 7w for a follow-up u/s (and some additional spotting) and DH and I were holding our breaths to see the h/b again...when we saw TWO. Yes, didn't find twins until the 4th u/s I had (I had one at 5w, 6w, then at the ER at 6w3d). I was immediately discharged to a high risk OB who I saw at 7w and who diagnosed me with a subchorionic hematoma-- not quite what you have but very close (clot instead of a tear). He also put me on bedrest until it resolved. The bleeding stopped and he took me off of bedrest at 11 weeks only to have the bleeding start again at 12 weeks, just when I though we were out of the woods. Again the doctor said it must be the clot resolving itself and put me back on bedrest for a week until the bleeding stopped again.
Happy to report that the rest of my PG was totally uneventful and our twins were born in 2006 at 37w1d (scheduled c-section). There were no further complications from the clot.
My SIL had a hemmorage with her second child and also was fine after several weeks of bed rest.
So hang in there and definitely keep resting (I know my bleeding started up again every time I seemed to get up and walk a bit) and know that a happy ending is definitely possible!! I'll be thinking about you and checking up frequently. If you ever need to get in touch with me, just ask Mel-- she's an IRL friend of mine and can give you my contact info (or you can visit my blog and leave a message).

  6. Beautiful photo! Oh the heartbeat is just the best part... I am glad things are still on the up and up and I continue to pray for only the best. Take care of yourself, little mama!!!

  7. hey JJ! so glad for the update. And the picture of Ron? WOW, just amazing! I think he has your nose (haha, couldnt resist). We are all rootin for you.

I'll check around our hostess shops and see if I can find some chochodiles for Mook. If I do I will email you!

  8. I don't have specific experience with a hemmorage per se, but I did end up in an ER while alone & out of town for unexplained bleeding at 7 weeks (also ivf). I too was worried about the bleeding b/c I had previously had a double ectopic pregnancy found at 7 weeks still going strong. I can totally empathize with you. It's scary. So I'll keep my happy thoughts coming. BTW...that ER experience resulted in full term twins in May 2007. So best wishes to you and mook and ron.

  9. Sorry you're still on bedrest but I'm proud that you've graduated back to your OB. I'm praying that this little snag will resolve itself soon.

  10. Gorgeous pic! Let me know if there is anything you need...I'm not a West Coaster so can't help with the Chocodiles (I've actually NEVER heard of them...they sound SO GOOD!)

  11. What a beautiful picture!

I'm sorry it has all been so scary, I do hope it becomes far more 'ordinary' soon. Take care.

  12. Ron is handsome (or pretty if she's a Roni). Hey Brangelina is popping those babies out next week, so you'll have that to look forward to. :) Big hugs!

  13. I am sorry you are having such a hard time but I am glad that you got to see Ron's heartbeat. Take it easy!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. That is one good-looking picture there.
    And happy graduation!

    ReplyDelete
  15. GLad you and Ron are okay, Sorry Mook, canuck up here can't help you with your chocolate.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm wishing you luck! So that's what a hemmorage looks like? It looks like another sac to me. If it is a twin, I was told that bleeding is common in the first trimester with twins. Harry or Hermionie might be in there after all! Maybe they have the invisibility cloak on?!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Keep on keeping the faith JJ. And keep resting. That picture is going to turn into another wonderful one.

    Grow little Ron!

    ReplyDelete
  18. That is a great picture! Hang in there - you and Ron can do it!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. What a beautiful picture of little Ron. I'm so glad to hear that his/her little heart was just beating away in there. I know the "flat on the back" thing is rough...I right there with ya (though not for the exciting reason you are!!) Still keeping you all in my prayers, hoping the clot clears up quickly. Please take it easy and let everyone pamper you!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. woohoo!! and happy graduation!! i remember how nerve wracking that was. sounds like you'll be in just the right hands though!

i don't know what chocodiles are but i have a feeling i should!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm glad to hear you've graduated! That's an excellent sign. That little heartbeat means so much!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great minds must think alike, b/c I had the same explanation for my lack of symptoms during my first pregnancy. I figured if I was bleeding then God wanted to spare me the annoyance of feeling like I needed to hang over the toilet all day.

Yay Ron! I am so happy for you...can't wait to hear more!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am continuing to send good thoughts and I am so on the Chocodile hunt when I'm on the west coast next week.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Such good news to see that the hemorrhage is smaller and to see Ron's heartbeat again!!

Keep resting and I will be hoping this bleeding thing resolves itself soon.

Oh, and congrats on graduating to the OB!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yay Ron! Hopefully the OB will be able to aid in teaching Ron how to do a Petronus in order to get rid of that hemmoraghic Dementor. Yes, I'm a dork.

  26. What an amazing site. Offering up prayers for you and baby. Take care.

  27. what a beautiful picture indeed. if you need a good book to read just let me know and I can mail you some, let me know what kind you like. about the stretching, yea it's ligament pain starts fairly early doesn't really hurt till WAY later. again congrats and so glad you got to hear Ron's HB!

    ReplyDelete
  28. So glad to hear some good news!

    ReplyDelete
  29. It looks like Voldemort is trying to creep up on Ron, but he has his wand at the ready!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I also had a great big sloppy subchorionic hematoma while pregnant. They're scary and the doctors love to add on the scare factor. But Ron looks like he's chilling there, checking out the new digs, and try to just keep thinking about that.

    And lay down.

    ReplyDelete
  31. JJ,

WE WANT RON! WE WANT RON! WE WANT RON!

I an in So Cal and will look for chocodiles at the grocery store this weekend. I remember when those first came out!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think about you everyday JJ and I'm glad to hear that everything is on the up and up. I'm praying for you girlie and for little Ron too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ron is beautiful. Just like his mom.

I have never heard of a chocodile.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am so glad that little Ron is hanging in there. I am proud of you graduating! Do you get a cap and gown?? LMOA.. sorry I amuse myself. Hang in there. Maybe Mook can get you the DVD of the Tudors. DH got it for me and it is nothing short of amazing. It would make for great bedrest reading.

  35. Weirdly, I was just introduced to Chocodiles yesterday. My partner came out of our friendly convenience store them them, and I got to enjoy their goodness.

Rather than tease you and/or Mook with this find, I'll volunteer to send you some. Send your address info to breedavidson at earthlink dot net, and I'll hook you up!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yay for a heartbeat! I hope the hemorrhage (sp?) resolves itself soon.

BTW - I found this when I googled Chocodiles. :)

  37. I'm on the east coast here, so can't help with the Chocodiles--although it made me think of that American Dad episode...

    Great U/S pic!

As for bedrest stuff, if you have Netflix, it might be time to rent some t.v. shows you have been meaning to watch/catch up on...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Go Ron go!!!

I've never seen chocodiles, but I live in Cali so I'll keep an eye out for you.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I've been thinking of you!

And damn, those Chocodiles look GOOD! They remind me of Funny Bones, which are super hard to find these days - I haven't seen them in years!

    ReplyDelete
  40. What a gorgeous picture...

    Grow, Ron, grow!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Isn't it amazing to see that little being in there? I hope this nasty thing goes away on it's own soon and you can enjoy this time. Thinking of ya!

    ReplyDelete
  42. YAH for Ron! How exciting I am still praying for that SCH to dissolve quickly

    ReplyDelete
  43. What a wonderful picture of Ron. You are all in my thoughts and I'm so hoping the bleeding and all quit and go away soon.
Also is there anything else you could use?? I've usually got lots of books I could send although I don't know what you like.
I'll also look for those choco thingys. I could have swore I've seen them somewhere. Am I the only one who thinks that they don't look that appealing since it's still a twinkie inside??

    ReplyDelete
  44. Mercy, mercy, mercy. How scary all of this is, but that picture of Ron is just beautiful! He is a lovely little fella! Take care and update again when you can.

  45. Oh Sweets I am just getting caught up. PRAYING big time for good news. I am glad to see your little bean is still growing and all that jazz. Rest up! 48. Just caught up on your news.

I'm sorry about the bleed but i hope it's getting better.

So please to see Ron and to hear the little heart is beating. Between you and me we refer to TP as "Dave" (long story). What a pair they make - Ron and Dave - sounds like a pair of old men!

    Keep resting sweetie xx

    ReplyDelete
  49. Nice pic!! He's a cutie already.

One more thing I remembered about the SH - my doc said if there was a "good" time (I know, there really is no good time) to get one was in the 1st trimester for some reason.

    Congrats on your graduation, too!!

    Take care!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh my God - I used to LOVE chocodiles - if you find them, let me know.

Love the pic of Ron - looks exactly the way it should be. I'm sorry about the hemorrhage and all of the worry it brings with it, but so glad to hear that everything is ok with the little guy. Thinking of you every day and pulling for you and Mook (and Ron) 100%!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. JJ How great that you got to see the heartbeat! How scary about the SH though. I actually got to see my oldest heartbeat due to a SH as well. They're scary, but generally benign. I bled heavily on and off from 6w until about 20 weeks. Good luck to you, and I'm glad all seems to be going well!

    ReplyDelete
  54. yay ron!! i'm so glad for you that ron is doing so well with a strong HB. i'm sorry for the SCH though. 4th of July weekend i also went to the ER for pink spotting and the same was discovered 'very' close to baby A. after some bedrest my RE said it hopefully resolves on its own and was too released to my OB. lots of positive vibes for you, JJ and ron!! i'll be thinking of you!
