The grates over the subway vents in Chicago used to freak me out...they are not made of sturdy cast iron like the grate in your picture. The iron ones are no problem for me - we used to occasionally go "fishing" for treasure in the storm sewers in our alley.
I don't walk through them either. Once at church (Centenary) I was wearing heels and stepped onto one of the heating grates in the floor in the sanctuary and fell flat on my face.
Ever since then I've avoided grates! : )
Cute shoes too.....I have them in teal. Great minds think alike.
Ooh, me, either, dude. No freakin' way. Makes walking in a big city kinda difficult (Chicago, for example), but a friend of mine, a rather tall, but otherwise weight-proportionate fellow, fell through a metal grate outside our high school and had to have major reconstructive surgery done on the muscle/tendons in his calf and knee. He didn't fall far at all, but the metal actually broke and cut into his leg. OUCH. Since then, no grate-walking for me. Nope, nope, nope!
Well, of course. Otherwise I might fall through and into the abyss.

ReplyDeleteI got a heel stick in one once. Embarassing.
Cute sandals! I have a similar pair.
I always think the one step I make on them will be the last step and it will break and I'll fall into that nastiness below...
ReplyDeleteKimbosue's Random Fact

ReplyDeleteI avoid grates, too, after someone fell through ones I always walked on in NYC. There but for the grace of God...!
