Do you have Carladderaphobia like me? It's my made up word for the fear of driving behind a truck with a ladder attached to it. Gives me the heeby-jeebies!
*Feel free to share your own RFF on your blog; please just reference Random Fact Friday @ Reproductive Jeans*
Believe it or not, your phobia has merit. My mother was once driving my grandmother on I-95 leaving Philadelphia a few years ago and a ladder fell off a trunk that was setup just like the photo you show. Thankfully, my mom was behind the truck enough and was in a place that she could get out of the way. I truly think God was watching out for her, because usually there is no opportunity to swerve out of the way of something while on a highway. Everyone was fine.
ReplyDeleteI love the phobia name you gave it!! I read that first sentence and thought, 'what is that?' LOL.
ReplyDeleteI don't like driving behind those types of cars either. Or the trucks that just throw stuff in the back of the bed. I'm always afraid something is going to go flying out their trucks!
Enjoy your weekend! Is there a support group for carladderaphobia??!
I am totally with you in this one!
ReplyDeleteYes! I do!
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's time for an update on what's going on in the world of JJ, Mook, and O-man.
I'm more nervous about the tractor trailer load of logs or the big concreted cylinders that look like they'll roll right of the back!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
I just posted my own Random Fact.
ReplyDeleteYour phobia is completely warranted. I've seen at least half a dozen ladders fall off of trucks on the freeway. Scary!!!
I worry more about people with dogs in the back of their trucks (DOGS, JUST STANDING THERE, NOT STRAPPED IN OR ANYTHING), but I do not drive behind anyone with anything like that if I can help it.
ReplyDeleteI'm more nervous of trucks with HUGE concrete or metal objects that seemed to be secured very loosely! Scary! Have a nice weekend, girl!
ReplyDeleteOne of those prevalent but underappreciated phobias, I'd say! I don't like those trucks either...
ReplyDeleteoh me too!
ReplyDeleteI will drive REALLY fast to pass them if I can, or just stay as far back as possible.
I love the name of this phobia! It gave me a good laugh. : )
