You see, its like this...

I just never liked girls.

Let me be more clear--I never have had a "girlfriend"---yes, I can proudly admit that I find Ashley Judd super delicious, and Mook would be in big trouble if her car broke down outside my house...

But the girls I am talking about are the home-girls, the BFF's, the girls you bought the heart necklace for--you gave her half, you kept the other half.

I just never got close to girls growing up. I always had more guy friends--I wasn't a tomboy per se, didnt really play that many sports, or enjoy "guy stuff"-- I just felt very intimidated around other girls--the drama, the cliques, the naked pillow fights (thats for the benefit of any of my male readers, who have the fantasy that those actually take place...)

But I fully appreciate and realize that there was a reason for my lack of female companions early on in life.

Because today, as in present time, my cup runneth over with FABULOUS FEMALE FRIENDS.

I know I have touched on this subject in previous posts, but to me it is worth mentioning a million times, to fully express the gratitude I feel for having made such genuine and life long friendships. It stinks we all had to experience some sort of infertility struggle to have found each other--but to have to go through something as craptastic as IF, the reward couldn't be sweeter.

  4. So true that an IF bond sucks for the reason it is, but rocks for the friendships we make. And those broken-half-heart necklaces.. ask any of those chicks where those are NOW... ;)

  6. I am like you too - I developed one or 2 female friends who remain close, but, I am not a big long list of BFFs kinda person (all that squeling and giggling sorta made me bonkers).
But you are right, IF friends are the BEST.

  10. Naked pillow fights... I could go a lot of places with that comment, but I won't. Your blog is still PG :)

Personally I like that there are some other strange quirks that bond us together as friends even if it was our blogs about our struggles that introduced us.

  11. Ditto here. To this day I have one great girl-friend in real life and so many of you awesome ones online. IF sucks it bad, but we all make it through because of each other, I truly believe that, for myself anyway. Love ya my friend! xoxoxoxoxo

  13. So true. I've longed for so many years to have a group of girlfriends that I had around. I now have that and while I wish that I lived closer to them, it's great that you are all there.

  15. Being a tomboy and then eventually a computer geek, I just GET guys more than I do girls. But slowly and with great care, I am finding my tribe of chicas, and I am very very happy. Thanks for reminding me in this post.

  16. I never had that many girlfriends growing up. I had the one or two close girls in my life, but the majority of my friends were guys, and I wasn't especially tomboyish, either. I just got along better with men than women.

But yes. IF has allowed for some really fantastic female connections to be made. And that is totally completely AWESOME.

  17. You *know* I feel the same way. One day we'll all retire to run a vineyard - except we'll hire hot dudes to run it for us as we drink.

  18. I too have never been a girls girl, but IF has brought me to a place where I've also discovered the value of female friends.

  19. you know I feel EXACTLY the same way. In fact when I learned the oodles were boys, I sighed with Relief, these young men I could relate to.
But like you , as I near middle age (40) I have such good friends in my life, women who make EVERYTHING better, who know me in ways I'll never know myself. I too am glad for all of them, including you!!!!!

There is nothing like a good pair of jeans; they shape us, support us and make us look our best. I'd love for you to share your jeans with me!
