Photo Friday: Expiration Date

This week's photo challenge over at Creating Motherhood is to capture a picture of the inside of our 'fridge.

It's been a whole new challenge to stock my 'fridge lately. With Mook gone so much, it's hard to come up with meals for just one person, when it doesn't come in a box that you keep in the freezer. Ive done lots of pasta meals (the O-man is not a fan of pasta--hope that changes!) baked potatoes, salads, sandwiches. So not a bad variety...

But some nights my dinner is: half a bagel with cream cheese, some Goldfish crackers, half a banana, and a glass of wine. Nutritious, not so much. But oh so satisfying :)

Go peek inside more refrigerators.

  1. I'm absolutely awful when J goes out of town... I think I had pepperoni slices, sliced cheese and ritz crackers for dinner every night last time he was out of town. SO nutritious!

  2. Love the angle! And totally get the lack of meals. I think I survived on oatmeal for a while there.

  3. oh i hear ya! My husband just doesn't like to eat like a "normal" person, so we are usually cooking for one.
cereal has been my go to lately.

and, G doesn't like pasta either and I am baffled! It's my favorite!

  5. That is an extremely cool picture.

I say you should go ahead and cook normal portions and freeze half.

  6. Cool picture! I understand the challenge of cooking for one...I've been doing it for 13 years, and I still end up eating too many random meals.

  7. I've been known to eat cereal on nights that I am home on my own... :)

  8. It is hard to prepare for one. My Dad lives alone but he eats for four, LOL, but I know it is hard. Love the pic angle too. xoxo

  10. when I was single I used to live on Diet Coke , Pringles and Law & Order...:) So now things are hard when I "have" to cook.
My boys do love pasta...and O-man will too...:)

  11. Love the photo! I didn't participate since my fridge needs a serious cleaning. lol!

I am not a great eater when ike is out of town. I can't imagine how bad I'd be if he were gone all week.

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Very, VERY cool!

Maybe not the most nutritious, but yes - very satisfying! Some of my favorite meals are when I get to eat whatever I want without worrying about making it something everyone will like.

  14. Yeah. Jess may not be out of town a lot, but I do dinners alone a lot and I am just like you - easy, quick and maybe not so nutritious. :) As long as I feed C good stuff, I seem to forget about myself.

  15. I feel your pain!

Oscar gobbled pasta the first time I gave it to him, and now he won't touch it.

He will eat bananas about once a week, but I can never predict when.

I am completely exhausted by trying to figure what meals to feel my family.

    Awesome photograph, by the way.
