Pre~Seed?

I decided if I did indeed start this month (which I did yesterday...*sigh) that we would try the lubricant Pre-Seed -have heard it has benefits to keep the sperm alive, and provide a less "irritable" experience if I happen to have less "egg-white" mucus around O time.

Has anyone used this/heard good or bad things about it? I did ask my OBGYN when I went in for my HSG--he said that obviously that natural mucus is best, but that he didn't have enough information to tell me one way or another.

I have read several accounts on the website reviews that it has been a great purchase (but I guess their website would not promote any bad publicity!) So, I turn to others in the community to see if anyone can share some knowledge! Thanks in advance...

......................................

Our weekend was nice and relaxing--got a lot done around the house. Visited with friends and family. We did decide to tell DH's parents this weekend about what we have been going through. They came up to have lunch with us today, and since we had the opportunity to tell them in person, we decided that was best. My family has known for a while now--I rely on my mom for a lot of advice and comfort! And not that we wanted to "keep" it from his parents--we just didn't want to create more emotions than need be, and thought they might be more prone to be upset since the uncertainty in all this stems from what we find out about DH's results. But I think we were both pleasantly surprised-I saw a few tears build up in both their eyes, but they had nothing but positive encouraging words for us. I think we both feel more at ease when our families know what we are going through, since we value family so much and are very lucky to have a lot of love and support.

We are having friends over to watch the Grammy's tonight--off to get dressed up for our "red carpet" event!

  1. Hi there,
Thanks for the comment on my blog...always nice to meet new people (and I see we have some "likes" in common...Office Space, Cold Stone ice cream..yum!!!)
I did try Pre-Seed for 3 or 4 cycles but, unfortunately nothing short of IVF is going to work for us, thanks to my endo. But, I'd definitely give it a shot if I were you!
Oh, and I wanted to comment on your hubby's issues because mine had the same. The whole story is from my July 20th entry if you want to take a look but, basically he had morphology and motility issues. Very, very bad. I heard about a supplement called Pycenogenol that was supposed to help so I bought it the day we got the bad results. He had three analysis' done from that point in time and each one got better and better(motility went from 8% to 17% in one month). In fact, for the last one that he did with our IVF cycle, his counts were excellent, as if nothing were ever wrong. Of course, I am a big believer that our faith also got us through but I highly recommend this supplement to anyone with male factor infertility. It can be found at GNC or ordered online.
Whew...that's a novel for today! Best of luck and I look forward to reading about your journey!

  2. I stumbled over here from The Smarshyfiles. :) My DH has icky morphology - only about 13%, but that's up from the 5% initially. I had him start taking Fertility Blend for Men. You can get it online or at your local GNC (if you have one).

As for preseed - it works. Or at least it did for a friend of mine - her testimonial is on their site. It didn't work for us, but DH preferred it to other lubes so it did have its benefit. Some of us aren't lucky enough to produce CM on command! :) It certainly won't hurt you, and anything you can do to help...

I wish you lots of luck, and hope to see the awaited results soon!

  3. Popped over from Smarshy's - welcome! That pre-seed sounds fabulous but I am not sure we get it here in S.Africa.
Infertlity can be very scarey and uncertain, but you've come to the right place for support. Best of luck to both of you. What is the plan of action? Any idea yet?

  4. Welcome!
We bought some pre-seed when we were in Atlanta visiting the hubster's parents over Christmas.
It's lovely lube but I'm not knocked up yet? We can't get it on Vancouver Island so I'll have to get it in the city next time we go, or the www. Wasn't the HSG fun?!
    Here's hoping...

  5. Thanks for stopping by my blog today - wanted to say hello! Definitely nice to meet new friends. :)

We have MFI as well - VERY low counts and abnormal morphology. I have heard that if your husband doesn't have a structural issue like a varicocele, you may want to try GNC's "Fertility Blend for Men." It never really worked for J, but I have heard it helps for some men.

I used Preseed once, but since I don't have an issue with natural mucus production, it was almost too much for me. But keep us posted!

I'm going to add you to my blogroll if you don't mind...

  6. Hi there JJ! Nice to "meet" you! I'm also one who's tried Pre-Seed 4 or 5 times and had great hopes for it, but like Kirsten, I think its IVF or bust for us. Hubby liked it though! Good luck, I'll also add you to my blogroll so I can see how you're going.

Oh and Mands, you can get it in SA by the way, if you want to know where, let me know, I'll ask my friend whos bought it there a few times.

  7. Thanks for stopping by! Good to meet another NC person! I've added you to my blogroll, which is small right now, but I'm hoping to grow it a bit.

I don't know any on Pre-Seed since that's never been an issue, but the site looks reputatable.

I think having family support makes the whole IF process much easier to deal with. I'm both of your families are supportive!

  8. I'm new to your blog and just wanted to give you a warm welcome. Infertility is a difficult journey. We need all the support we could get to make the journey bearable.
As for Pre-Seed, I've heard of it but I haven't tried it.
I'm glad you shared what you both are going through with your in-laws. I just recently told my in-laws, and I'm glad I did.

  9. We've used pre-seed several times. It's a wonderful lubricant and it's supposed to be sperm friendly. We tried it when we were worried that I may have less than optimal c.m. and also when I was using clomid. Since we have unexplained IF, we hoped it would help us get pregnant. Unfortunately it hasn't. Best of luck to you. I am just getting introduced to your blog, so forgive me if my comments are totally out of turn.

There is nothing like a good pair of jeans; they shape us, support us and make us look our best. I'd love for you to share your jeans with me!
