Can you hear me cheer?

Because the victorious cry that I let out after I FINISHED O-man's stocking, was window-shattering.

Ok, maybe not that loud...but trust me, once the last stitch was tied off--I whooped and hollered and danced about the room!

If you remember, during 30 posts in 30 days in November, I said that C was for CRAFTS and I was announcing to blogland that I was going to hand sew O-man's stocking.

It started out looking like this: a lot of thread, felt and lines of instructions...

And it slowly started coming together:

But not without PLENTY of these minor set backs....

But it was all worth it--the tears that were shed because of the frustration, the finger pricks, but most importantly--the tears of gratitude that I am able to hang this stocking on our mantel this year--a Christmas wish come true....

From the entire Jeans household, we wish you and
yours a time of love and reflecting on the blessings from this year,
and the promise of what this next year holds...

  13. It's like paint by numbers, but with blood sweat and tears instead of paint. ;) So glad you got it done! Now you just have to wait until Oliver comes with those sweet puppy dog eyes and asks you to make one for his baby. :)

  22. JJ - that stocking is just fabulous. I am so impressed. What a terrific momma you are. I bought all this felt to sew "houses" for the 3 Little Pigs story (the pigs and wolf are wooden) but alas the pieces of wool felt are just sitting on my dining room table, gathering dust. You are my inspiration! Happy ho ho ho to you!

  34. One of my most prized Christmas possesions is my childhood stocking made by my aunt. It is very similar to the one you made...I just love it! So, I've now added a "to-do" for 2010 and that is to make stockings for my girls!
    Looks great!
