Brought to you by: The Letter C

C is for CRAFTS

I could spend hours in a certain craft store that begins with Mi and ends with chaels.

I love paper crafts, wood crafts, paint crafts--but it has to be something where I dont have to read a lot of directions--part of a craft is learning by doing, in my opinion.

So I may have bit off more than I can chew with this craft....

I knew a long time ago that I wanted to make O-man's stocking--my mom made all of ours, and I still love being at home for the holidays and seeing that very special stocking hanging on the mantel. And it's just my luck that the manufacturer of my stocking pattern has started making the kits again! Yippee!

But oooohhh, wow. There are a lot of directions, a lot of dotted lines and pieces of sequins and string, and on and on and on...

Let's just hope that Santa will still leave a treat for O-man if my crafty ambitions don't pan out before Christmas Eve!

  1. I still have the stocking my mom made years ago for me too. I love it and thatk you for reminding me that I have to add the task of making C's stocking to my neverending list. Good luck with O-man's. It will look awesome no matter what you do simply because it was made from a mother's love. Awwwww.

  2. Good luck. I'm kind of like you. I love the craft stuff but hate directions. Or as I refer to the destructions.

  3. My mom made me a stocking too. Those store bought ones just don't compare. My mom wanted to make A's stocking too so I didn't even have to get crafty :)

Good luck with your project -- I'm sure you can do it!

  4. You can do it!!! Someone actually thinks I know about crafts and I'm only a phone call away for consultation...LOL.

  5. But...but...but...C is for Cookie! At least on Sesame Street. :)

I love the stocking pattern - you've got almost 2 months, and I think you'll be just fine. (Especially since it will be at least 2 years before he actually notices the stocking and realizes what it's for...so, there's no pressure)

  6. Ooh, I want to make a stocking for V as well. While I am crafty, I'm not that crafty. I was thinking about getting a plain stocking and then arting up the stocking with his name.

  7. I'm such a loser. In theory, I WANT to make one but in practicality, I just ordered it from PBK. I'm so lazy.
Can't wait to see the finished product!
    *hugs*

  8. We are counting on my MIL to provide JAG's first stocking. I can't wait to hang it in our house for our first Christmas in that house and our first with JAG!

  9. You can do it! And if for whatever reason that pattern doesn't work out, I can pass off an easy and very cute (and very fast) crocheted stocking pattern. I crocheted all the stockings for my family a few years ago, since our old stockings were getting a little ratty, and I started in mid-November and managed to finish 4 of them by the week before Christmas. And they're cute, too.

Of course, now you've just inspired me to get started on extra special hand-sewn/embroidered stockings for the ones on the way... sigh. Somehow two of everything just seems a little overwhelming right now!
