January is as January does

January, I have a love-hate relationship with you.

Before I hate on you too much...I must say I enjoy celebrating Mook's birthday during this month, and I tend to be quite productive in the 1st month of the year tending to honey-do lists and prepping for the year.

But the winter blues just seem to linger after the holiday's, its COLD (I do love snow, though) and everyone hibernates.

And it goes without saying that I pretty much had a hard time with January exactly two years ago. It honestly feels like just yesterday that I was admitted to the hospital. I can still recall every nook and cranny of that room I spent 3 weeks in.

And just to remind me that all turned out so beautifully in the end, my soon to be two year old took it upon himself to show me that you just gotta pull yourself up by the bootstraps and keep moving forward.

Before you leave...have you taken 2 seconds to visit this post and tell me how you are going be better in 2011? If you do, you might win $100. Spiffy, huh?

  1. Why is it that January always brings the new year blues? Seems like it's going around.

I love O-mans haircut! And those plaid boots on him are too adorable!

Hope you can kick those winter blues to the curb soon!

  2. I agree about the January blues. Plus the cold seems to drag on in January...what with no holidays or anything super exciting (besides birthdays) happening.

    O-man is adorable :)

I can't wait for spring and sunshine and going outside again!!

  4. I have been a whirlwind of cleaning and organizing and sleep training and making lists and dieting and whatever else I can do to keep myself busy because I KNOW that the second I stop to breath, the January blues with decend upon me.

I can't keep it up for much longer though and I'm about ready for a crash and burn. I dread it.

And would you look at that adorable little boy in his mama's boots! Oh, JJ, he is quite the handsome little sweetie pie!

    Sending you sunshine.

  5. I don't mind January much but usually dislike February. It seems like winter is just dragging on in Feb and then there's the whole holiday to remind me that I'm single still.

  8. I still in awe that it has been two years. My bedrest experience still haunts me. For me, it was October and I don't think Fall will ever be the same again.

Hope you start to feel some sort of spring fever soon!
