I feel like I'm in the kitchen a lot these days--its been a challenge to figure out what Mr. O-man wants to eat and will eat. And I feel like I need to run 50 bajilion miles to work off the extra weight that has crept on, because I'M eating the the leftovers of what he won't eat.
But one thing the O-man and I do agree on food wise? Breakfast! We both love it, and enjoy our morning routine together.

See what others have snapped for the challenge.
OH! And good news! US Air is sending me a refund check for my camera---Yeehaw! What camera do you have? I need to go shopping!
Breakfast is the one meal the boys and I always agree on, too (unless I try and give them eggs). It's hilarious to see Trip go after a piece of bacon!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics...especially the aged looking Mickey cup. Makes me all nostalgic.
That rocks they're sending you a check for your camera!!! Doesn't make up for the lost pics, I'm sure. Yay all the same!
What is that creation? It looks delicious. I'll be over for breakfast Monday morning, see you then!
ReplyDeleteI could eat breakfast morning, noon and night. In fact, I had a custard filled chocolate bismark for dinner last night. (did i just say that out loud?)
ReplyDeleteI love breakfast in this house, my fav part of the day. I esp love sharing oatmeal with L... so sweet to share a meal with your little pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteI have a Canon Rebel DSLR and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It wasn't cheap, but the shutter speed is awesome and I rarely notice blur in my photos, which is necessary with you-know-who!
Mmm, I can smell the baking pastry and fresh coffee. I'll be right over.....
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! And hurray for US Air. Can't wait to see the pics you take with your new camera!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Nikon D3000 with an 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens; we love it! It's pricey, but you can often find good package deals on the body and lenses. Enjoy camera shopping!
ReplyDeleteOh that Danish looks SOOO good. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been eating one Low Fat/Wheat Eggo Waffle and a yogurt and I truly love it.
the Mickey cup is adorable.
I have a new camera , the Samsung TL220 , the coolest part of it, is that you can have a photo window in the front of the camera, so when hubby is not shooting from the "boobs up" I can tell him that and readjusts :) I like it a lot. so glad you're getting the check, have fun shopping!
TGIF
yuuuuuuuuuum!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to confess- I LOVE the arty farty phone photos you are taking. I hope you continue them even when you get your swanky new camera (WOOO!)
I am a loyal lover of canon. Anything canon.
also- I am in the same food boat with you. W is so weird with food these days. Which is why he usually ends up eating 2 bananas for breakfast instead of the awesome oatmeal I made for him...sigh
mmm......breakfast!
ReplyDeletelove all the reds in the pastry picture!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! I am camera shopping myself, so I appreciate all of the camera advice in your comments.
ReplyDeleteLoving the pix, especially the toasty pastry. The way you shot that with the warm glow of the heating element leaves me imagine how yummy and flakey and warm it would be to eat. Yea!
ReplyDeleteI have a little Canon Elf, but find in recent months I'm all about the camera phone, especially with the tricks the apps can do.
We have the Lumix (panasonic) DMC-ZS3 and love it. We've gone through a few digital cameras and find this one to be top notch (outside of the SLR's, of course).
ReplyDeleteWhen I dream about food from home, I almost always dream about breakfast. Because while you can get some sort of semblance of Mexican dinner around here (sort of!), you cannot find Mexican (or more specifically, Tex-Mex) breakfast! I drool over breakfast tacos, migas, huevos rancheros... oh, I miss it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're getting a refund for your camera! Sweet! Of course, you know my opinion of the camera you used to have-- it's my absolute favorite point-and-shoot model, and it's still my go-to when I don't feel like fussing with carrying my DSLR and lenses and whatnot. So, my advice would be to get another Sony H series camera (whatever their new model is). Per my research, they are simply the best, most affordable, most option-filled point-and-shoot (but still manipulatable) camera on the market today.
BUT, if you want to go for something a little more, er, serious, I'd recommend any of the Sony Alpha series. They are a good entry price point for DSLR cameras, and the motor that drives the auto focus is in the camera, not the lens, which makes a weight difference when you're carrying around three lenses! Also, they are pretty user-friendly as far as DSLRs go. Additionally, they kept the Minolta lens assembly, so you can often find old used Minolta lenses on ebay (or at camera shops) for cheap. The downside is that Sony isn't quite as accepted as an industry standard (Nikon and Canon stole that spot!), and so when trying to find how-to documentation, it can be a little more difficult. Not a huge deal, but some camera snobs are a little haughty when they see you shooting with a non-Canon/Nikon camera (my photography instructor didn't really trust that my Sony was an actual DSLR worth it's salt because she just didn't know anything about Sony. I proved her wrong, of course, but still. There is a prejudice there that comes out when you talk cameras/equipment with people who *think* they're "in the know"...).
Anyhow, I could go on and on about cameras, but it really depends on what you're looking for. Instead, I'll give you this website: http://www.dpreview.com/
It was very helpful to me in the early stages of camera shopping, for both camera purchases that I made (the Sony H-series and later the DSLR). I like that you can choose your preferences and it will show you all the cameras that fit your profile. Some of the choices you can make on that site are very specific and probably not totally clear unless you're a photography buff, so if you use that site and you want to know what some option means, let me know, and I'll be glad to help as I can. If you end up ready to purchase in the next few weeks, let me know and I'll be glad to do some shopping/consulting with you if you want it.
O Temptress, with your sweet roll!
