Brought to you by: The Letter R

R is for READING

More than once, someone has told me how much I sound like my mom. Actually, my sister and I both sound like her--so it made it quite comical growing up, when we'd answer the phone and the person on the other end would hesitate before giving up and asking, "So WHO am I talking to?"

And I feel grateful to sound like her...her voice was (and still is!) so soothing to me during many moments--especially when she read to me.

I loved story time each night--the books were great, but the inflection and emotion that my mom put into each line she read, made the story. Each character had their own "voice" and I still can pick up the same book today, and hear her. And to hear her read to O-man--now that's "a page turner!" :0)

Mook and I both love reading to the O-man--and I hope he will enjoy a love for reading because of the stories we are reading him now--and I can't wait to watch him waddle over to me with a stack of books to be read.

We will read them all, my sweet boy.

  1. You have picked the best for R. Great job. Reading is so fun. I used to do it with my nephews and niece. It is one of the things I look forward to the most (crossing fingers).

  3. M. and I read to Miss O. from the very beginning, I wanted her to become a bookworm like me.

Even now, before bed, we read a book.

I hope O-man enjoys books as much as you!

  4. Reading to J is so fun...we seem to always be getting new books for him and we have scheduled reading times through-out the day - 2 of which are before his nap and before bedtime - he loves it too!

  5. well I do love reading, and my kids love turning the pages, but reading to them...well I'd have better luck trying to teach our dog to read right now...but every once in a while, I get them to just sit and listen and I hear my mom and dad, reading to me...spending time with me.

Love it. Love the pic too. :)
